As you recall from my first blog I made a list of the goals I am focused on for my "new life". I have started the process of making the list of how I will reach these goals.
Growing Closer to God
I have begun to read Discovering God's Will For Your Life, a Women of Faith Study Guide Series book. Funny how God works. I have had this book for over 5 years and I just now decided to pick it up and use it. How wonderful it is to know God had a plan for me way back then and he knew I would need this book now. I also am reading 1 Peter. I love how God has spoken to me in this book and I have only read the first chapter so far. In this chapter I have found so many different things that relate to me and have made me think more about what God has done for me. Such as "... you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire may be proved genuine and my result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed..." We all have trials and tribulations they help us to grow stronger in the Lord and help us to see a bigger picture in our life. I rejoice in the trials and tribulations that are put in front of me because I know that it is all God's plan for me to grow and become closer to him. Thank you God for my life and what you have made of it. Even in this time of economic blunder we must still look up and praise him for all these things that are happening in the world, they are all a part of his LARGER plan.
So I have started to read my bible daily and have started writing things down that seem to jump out at me. Things that I see that might relate to my life, this will help me to remember who is in charge of every part of my life. He gives me verses so I can use them to help further his kingdom and in times of need I can seek comfort in him. The Lord is wonderful and glories and Loves US NO MATTER WHAT. So I hope to "grow up in God as one of the women Satan says OH CRAP when my feet hit the floor."
Become healthier physically and mentally
Physically I began my treacherous workout schedule. :) I smile and laugh because to me this was horrible but to you it is probably lame. I walked a mile yesterday and today. GO ME GO ME!!!! yea!!!! I walked a mile yesterday and WOW was I tired. But today wasn't that bad. That's a lot for some one who sits most of the day and exercises her mouth. :) But that is just the beginning, I want to work my way up to walking at least two miles every day. I will up date you with my progress each week. This will be a challenge but my kids are willing to help me and push me. I am also trying to eat healthier. I am eating more fruit. I never really realized how expensive trying to be healthy can get.
Degree in Mass Communications
I am getting information regarding grants and will be talking to a counselor at a community college soon. More on that soon.
